Adoption History

For those of you who don't know, we started our adoption process in July 2005. There was a tremendous amount of paperwork to complete, and we anticipated a trip to Ukraine in March 2006; but with changes in the govt, Ukraine closed for most of 2006, for international adoptions. So, we spent most of last year trying to prepare as much as we could. We just had to remember that God's timing is perfect, and the children He has chosen for us were not available yet. Both of us feel we are much better prepared for children this year than we would have been last year.

A few days before Christmas 2006, Ukraine opened back up, this was the best Christmas present we could have hoped for. We then had to hurry to update most of our paperwork. Our dossier was was finally able to be submitted, in Kyiv, in Feburary. Our date to be at the State Dept of Adoptions in Kyiv is June 18th. We will leave June 15th and anticipate being in Ukraine close to five weeks. We will be coming home with the children God leads us to while we are over there. At this point we do not know the age, sex, or even how many children. Cindy has resigned and will stay home with the children until they are in school.

We are extremely excited, more like ecstatic! We do realize our leisurely weekends will be gone, along with the spur of the moment trips, but none the less, we can't wait.
