Kristina gets her ears pierced

Today we all went to the mall. While we were there we decided to get Kristina's ears pierced. She had been waiting for a long time. She had no idea it was coming until we stopped at the stand. She said her heart suddenly started beating very fast, by she was excited.

Friends B-day party

First I must say that earlier this week we found out that Kristina made the JV cheerleading team. We are so proud of her. We know she must have really wanted it to be able to push through the day of surgery. Congratulations, Kristina!!!

This evening we went to a friend's birthday party at a jumping place. They are great places to let the kids burn off a bunch of energy. They love to jump and slide down the slides. This place also had a basketball hoop and a football throw.

Cheering tryouts

A few weeks ago when I was picking the kids up from school Kristina said, "Mom, I have good news and bad news."

"OK???"

"Cheerleading tryouts are in two weeks, but it is the same day as my surgery."

"Well, you are always fine, by the afternoon, you'll have surgery in the morning and tryouts in the afternoon."

"Oh."

I told the doctor not to hit her so hard since she didn't want to hurt at the tryouts and it would be hard to jump around. It was a good thing she was off because she spent all afternoon working on her manditory poster for the tryouts. GCA is the Gators and one of their rivals is the Dolphins.



I know it was hard for her to go to the tryouts, but she must really want it.

Mother's Day

This was my third Mother's Day. Boy does time fly. After church we went to Tripps to eat lunch. I love that place.

I love these things the kids make, it's so cute to bring them out year after year, even though there haven't been many years.

I also got a planter for the backyard, a night light to read if John is already asleep, and a picture frame.

Swimming lessons

This week started another year of swimming lessons. We will be very busy Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Hopefully by the summer Luba will be able to swim in deep water without fear and Michael will be learning the basics of swimming.

Kristina was a little scared of the diving board, but thought it was fun.

John and Cindy celebrate their birthdays

Today we finished out the month of birthdays by celebrating John's and my birthday together. My birthday was the 26th and John's was the 30th. We had a cook out with the family. It was beautiful weather.

We figured we were old enough that we could share a cake and didn't need our own.

Again it was a wonderful month of birthdays, but I'm glad it's over.
