Nats Game

Today we went to the Jefferson Memorial in the morning. There were a few cherry trees still in bloom and they were beautiful. It is a long walk which is why we haven't gone there more often.

We paddled around the 'tidal basin' near the Jefferson.

Then we went to the Nat's game.

While we waited for autographs Michael looked over the program.

At the bottom of the screen it says, Happy 12th Birthday, on Saturday, to Kristina!

Ryan Zimmerman is looking back at us, unfortunately he didn't come over for an autograph.

George won the race.

DC

This morning we got up and went to Ford's Theatre. We were able to get tickets to see a play about the day Lincoln died and then see in The House where Lincoln died. The play was very informative although I'm not sure the kids understood it.

Lunch was Ben and Jerry's ice cream then we went to the Museum of Natural History.

We had a starfish in our bathroom just like this growing up.

We got back to the hotel earlier and we're able to eat dinner and swim in the pool. I think the kids will remember swimming in the pool the most.

Washington D.C.

For spring break we went to Washington D.C. The drive up today was so long, traffic was bad, we also stayed in Falls Church, VA which is a little bit farther drive than where we normally stay. We made it by mid-afternoon and got on the metro soon after checking in to head into town.

Since the kids had done so well in school in the past month we took them to ESPN Zone. This is an arcade and restaurant. We ate an early dinner and played multiple games.

Then we took a short walk to the Air and Space museum.

By the time we got back to the hotel it was late and time to get to bed.

Easter

He is Risen!! We do emphasize that Easter is about Jesus rising from the dead, but the kids still look forward to the candy.

After church we ate lunch at Tripps, then came home to relax. Michael and Luba wanted to do an Easter egg hunt so I hid a bunch of eggs in the back yard, they loved it!

Later they played baseball and we cooked out on the grill.
